Dr. Rob and Leslie Hildebrand
Rob and Leslie Hildebrand have spent their lives working with young people. For more than three decades they have led classes, youth groups, camps, retreats, mission trips and study abroad programs with thousands of students. Having seen the incredible life change that can happen on these trips, and the incredible growth that students can experience learning in community, they began college level educational trips in 2005.
As they began to dream about this program they sought God’s will through prayer. During one of those prayer times Rob promised that if God will provide sufficient funds, they would offer themselves and their assets to make this vision possible. He thought, at that point, that God would bring forward a donor, or possibly a grant. To their surprise, God used a different method to answer their prayers, and so they began selling and mortgaging assets to make the dream happen.
In addition to running LVSA, Rob serves on faculty as a Program chair and Assistant Dean at Multnomah University. Leslie operates her own interior design business (LH Interiors). Their youth ministry experience, with Leslie’s skills in interior design, and Rob’s experience in higher education they are perfectly placed to create a study abroad experience for college students.
