Transfer & Accreditation
Perhaps the greatest difference between LVSA and most gap year programs is our attempt to facilitate transfer credits for our students. To the very best of our ability we have attempted to keep our courses academically rigorous with robust course content and formal grading systems. Our classes are taught by faculty with University teaching experience and earned doctorates. Most of our faculty are also published and have served as Deans and faculty positions with a supervisory role.
It should also be noted that due to our small classrooms size and low student to faculty ratio, time in the classroom is very productive. This past year we had a 100% attendance rate with no skipped classes (16 students). Each course also had close to 60 hours of seat time or equivalent, far beyond the required 45 seat hours for typical 3 semester credits. To date we have had about a dozen schools agree to accept transfer from some or all of our classes.
Students considering LVSA should check with the registrar’s department of their intended school to ensure that there is room for the courses to transfer and that they are willing to accept them. Without an articulation agreement, the registrar at the students four year college normally makes the final determination. Our goal is that every student is able to receive full college credit for their work done with LVSA.
